Where to start#
Set these three things up first in the admin panel; everything else can wait:
- Settings → General — site name, tagline and timezone.
- Site Connect — hook up Google Analytics and Search Console.
- Customizer — adjust colors, fonts and layout to taste.
What to watch while writing#
The editor sidebar shows an SEO score. There is nothing magic about it — it checks the things that actually matter: title length, meta description, headings, internal links and image alt text.
Give every article at least three internal links. That is what gets new posts indexed quickly, because it gives Google a path to find them.
About speed#
This site uses a full-page cache. Once a page is cached, the next visitor is served the file directly by the web server and PHP never runs. That is why the site stays fast even with ads on it.
